FAQsWhere do we check in and check out during the first and last days of camp?
We will have a table in the Rho Lot (Parking Lot J) Lot Map What type of athletic playing field will the athletes be playing on? Both fields at Pepperdine will be grass fields. However, please bring athletic sneakers as we will be doing activities indoors and at different locations throughout Pepperdine’s campus. Can parents join campus tours and/or observe training sessions? When athletes are out on the field, parents are allowed to watch training sessions and games. Parents are also allowed to join when Pepperdine student athletes give athletic campus tours. Please let us know in advance if you wish to join our tours. Where do the campers eat their meals and do they have to stay overnight? The campers will eat in the Waves Cafe at the Tyler Campus Center. They have the option to stay overnight or commute during the overnight camps. Overnight campers will get three nights lodging and all meals during camp. Lunch is provided for commuters and also included for all athletes during one day events. Will there be supervision in the dorms? Yes, the athletes will be staying in dorms along with multiple coaches that will be available to supervise the girls and help them with anything they might need. For overnight do I have to bring my own linens? That is optional. Athletes are more than welcome to bring their linens from home. However, athletes who would like Pepperdine to provide linens will be charged an extra $25 for a full linens set, including towels. Is this a prospect camp for recruiting purposes or just a skills development camp? It is both! Athletes will have the opportunity to execute all lacrosse mechanics and fundamentals with high level competition. However, our camp is also designed with many activities to make you more marketable to college coaches. Will goalies receive individual goalie training? Yes! During all sessions our goalies will have their own goalie coach that will work on developing techniques on fundamentals and mechanics, as well as an intricate focus on team defensive concepts. Is there available transportation to and from the airport during overnight camp? Yes, we will have coaches going on airport runs to and from LAX. Are payment plans available? Absolutely! We are sensitive and flexible to all families during this tough economic time. Please contact us for more details on our payment plan options. Are there any available discounts? Athletes are eligible for discounts for coming with multiple club teammates, siblings, and or being a Pepperdine Alum, faculty or staff member. Please contact us for details. What ages are athletes at camp? Camper ages include 5th grade to incoming College Freshman. Athletes are separated by age and level. What else do we need to do administratively besides the event registration? That is it! All athletes need to be cleared electronically through our liability waiver prior to any participation in Malibu LAX Elite and Youth events. |
